For pilgrims coming to visit the Pearl of the Carpathians, the mountain resort of Sinaia, three attractions deserve full attention: the Bucegi Mountains, Peles Castle and Sinaia Orthodox Monastery. For those passionate about religious art, we mention that at Sinaia Monastery there are five types of crosses: the cross of Stephen the Great, found on the dome of the old church, the Greek cross with equal arms, found above the entrance to the large church, the Latin cross with unequal arms on the towers of the narthex of the large church, the Slavic cross (baroque-inspired, with several horizontal arms, on the central dome of the large church) and the sun inscribed in a Latin cross (on the bell tower). Despite the fact that Sinaia Monastery is the result of three centuries of development, it nonetheless maintains a remarkable unity.
